parkrun

We regularly run the 5k parkrun on Saturday mornings.
Our usual event is at the Coventry parkrun held in the War Memorial Park.

We have been recognised as the official Coventry parkrun running club by parkrun, 5/02/2011

Results

Parkrun starts at 9am and we meet up about 8:40 - 8:45 outside the 'Cafe in the Park' by the tennis courts. Look for our 'Dog and Bear' sign on the grass or any of our members.

Parkrun is open to all and any ability is welcome.

You just need to make sure you have registered at parkrun.com first, and printed out your barcode. You only need to do this once and then you are registered to run the parkrun any week, at any of 50+ locations.

Make sure you take your barcode with you to ensure you get your results and points as many parkrun events are now barcode only.

Dog and Bear are listed as a club on the parkrun website so when you sign up please choose us as your running club, even if you have not yet got a Dog and Bear account. This helps us see who is running each week for us and we get an email with the summary results for our members.

We encourage our members to volunteer to marshal at parkrun from time to time. The events are run by volunteers and could not happen without them and we are very grateful for them.

Juniors (u16) are welcome, but you must bring a adult with you (you could even get them to have a go at running). We are quite happy to run with you, but can not be responsible for you.

For more information about how parkrun works see their FAQ.
